Shipping Policy

Live Shipping Policy

To ensure the safest travel possible our tropical fish are packed with pure oxygen and double bagged. They are shipped in a polystyrene box with a heat pack. You will receive a picture of the actual fish that you have purchased immediately before it is packed.

Live fish are shipped overnight using NZ Post (please contact us re: rural deliveries).

Our shipping days for livestock are Monday and Tuesday, this is to help ensure they arrive safely and don’t get delayed over the weekend (days may change during Public Holidays).

Any fish ordered on/or after Tuesday will not be shipped until the following week as courier pickups are early in the morning.

We will send you the tracking details to the email address that you have provided when ordering.

We have no control over courier delivery times or errors and there may be cases where your order is delayed in transit or delivered incorrectly. We cannot guarantee your order will arrive overnight, but we will do our best to ensure we do everything we can at our end in communicating with the courier.

If your order of live fish arrives on the expected delivery date but arrives Dead on Arrival (DOA), we require 3 clear photos/videos of it in the unopened bag within the hour of delivery to be emailed to sales@fish2u.co.nz. (Please note some fish are shipped at your own risk – please contact us to see if this applies to any of the fish you are wanting to purchase). Should these instructions fail to be met, we may not be able to offer a refund.

At Fish2U we do our best to maintain correct stock information on our website but there may be times where we have not been able to update our inventory, due to selling times. If this does happen, we will contact you and then do our best to locate the item you have ordered and send it in a timely manner. If you want to avoid any disappointment, feel free to contact us.

Fish2U does not take responsibility for any issues that may occur if you enter the incorrect address or contact information, so please make sure all your details are correct before you confirm your purchase.

Live Shipping costs for fish are as follows:

  • South Island Non-Rural Addresses – $25.00 (incl GST)
  • North Island Non-Rural Addresses – $38.00 (incl GST)

Please Note for Rural Deliveries

For rural delivers please contact us prior to placing your order, so we can confirm shipping is possible to your location and what the costs would be. This may require an order to be placed on your behalf by us.

All livestock orders are sent at risk of the customer. Please keep this in mind when placing your order – FISH2U is not responsible or liable for any courier delays.

Sorry we cannot refund shipping.

General Shipping

Whilst we do our best to ensure that all items are available there maybe times that we have not been able to update the website in time due to selling in store and items may need to be ordered in. We will inform you if this affects your order and will dispatch as soon as possible.

The courier picks up Monday – Friday and most orders are sent out the day following the purchase.

General shipping costs to be confirmed

We use NZ Post and general items will be on general freight and are usually 3 working days. You will be emailed a tracking number and an additional information regarding you package.

Personal Delivery Policy

At Fish2U we feel the safest way to ship a live fish is through a personal delivery service (door to door). We offer this service to those who live in the wider Christchurch region generally between Rolleston and Amberly. We will consider personal delivery on a case-by-case basis if you live further afield, this is solely at the discretion of Fish2U.

If you would like to take advantage of this service, please contact us and we can organize a delivery time that suits your schedule and a quote for the service.

If you are not able to be home at the time that has been agreed upon, please contact us as soon as possible to rearrange another time. If you do not contact us and are not home for the delivery, Fish2U reserves the right to cancel the sale and charge you (the customer) for any additional costs incurred due to the cancellation of the sale.
