Description

The Round Green Terror (Andinoacara rivulatus variant) is a striking and robust freshwater cichlid native to the rivers and streams of western South America, particularly in Ecuador and northern Peru. This variant is known for its slightly more rounded body shape compared to the traditional Green Terror, while still showcasing the vibrant metallic green, blue, and turquoise hues that make this species so popular among aquarists. Bold orange or red edging along the fins adds to its dramatic appearance.In the wild, Green Terrors inhabit slow-moving rivers and floodplains with sandy or muddy substrates and plenty of submerged roots, rocks, and vegetation. They are opportunistic omnivores, feeding on insects, small fish, crustaceans, and plant matter.In aquariums, the Round Green Terror thrives in a spacious tank with a sandy substrate, rocks, driftwood, and hardy plants to create hiding spots and territories. This species can be territorial and aggressive, especially during breeding, so tankmates should be chosen carefully.
