Named for its shimmering, silvery body that resembles the soft glow of moonlight, this gourami is a favorite among aquarists for its beauty and serene demeanor.In the wild, the Moonlight Gourami inhabits densely vegetated areas with soft substrates and plenty of aquatic plants. It is an omnivore, feeding on small invertebrates, algae, and plant matter. Its labyrinth organ allows it to breathe atmospheric air, enabling it to thrive in low-oxygen environments.In aquariums, this species requires a spacious tank with a soft substrate, plenty of plants for cover, and subdued lighting to mimic its natural habitat.
