The Glowlight Tetra (Hemigrammus erythrozonus) is a small, peaceful freshwater fish native to the soft, acidic waters of the Essequibo River in Guyana, South America. Known for its striking, iridescent orange-red stripe that runs from its nose to the base of its tail, resembling a glowing filament, this tetra adds a subtle yet captivating beauty to any aquarium.In the wild, Glowlight Tetras inhabit slow-moving, shaded streams with dense vegetation and leaf litter, thriving in dimly lit environments with soft, tannin-rich waters. They are omnivorous, feeding on small invertebrates, insect larvae, and plant matter.In aquariums, Glowlight Tetras thrive in well-planted tanks with subdued lighting and plenty of hiding spots created with driftwood, rocks, and dense plants to mimic their natural habitat.
