The Delhezi Bichir (Polypterus delhezi), also known as the Armored Bichir or Barred Bichir, is a prehistoric-looking species native to the slow-moving rivers, swamps, and floodplains of Central and West Africa, particularly in the Congo River Basin. This striking fish features a long, eel-like body with dark vertical bands on a gray-green base, giving it a distinctive and ancient appearance.

As a nocturnal predator, the Delhezi Bichir hunts primarily at night, feeding on small fish, crustaceans, and other meaty foods.
