The Dark Knight Ram (Mikrogeophagus ramirezi variant) is a rare and strikingly beautiful freshwater cichlid known for its jet-black coloration and subtle iridescent highlights. This selectively bred variant of the classic Ram Cichlid exudes elegance and mystery, making it a highly sought-after addition to aquariums.While the Dark Knight Ram is a selectively bred variant, its wild ancestors, the standard Blue Rams, are native to the slow-moving rivers and floodplains of the Orinoco Basin in South America. In their natural habitat, they inhabit soft, sandy substrates with dense vegetation and feed on small invertebrates, insect larvae, and plant matter.In aquariums, the Dark Knight Ram thrives in a well-decorated tank with a soft substrate and plenty of plants, driftwood, and rocks to mimic its natural environment.
