The CoChu Blue Tetra (Boehlkea fredcochui), also known as the Blue Tetra, is a small and vibrant freshwater species native to the slow-moving rivers and tributaries of South America, particularly in Peru and Colombia. Known for its shimmering blue-silver body and active schooling behavior, this tetra is a favorite among aquarists looking for a striking yet peaceful addition to their aquarium.
In the wild, CoChu Blue Tetras inhabit soft, acidic waters with dense vegetation, where they feed on small invertebrates, insect larvae, and organic matter. They are highly active fish that naturally form tight schools for safety.
