The Hillstream Loach (Beaufortia kweichowensis or Gastromyzon species) is a fascinating and unique species of freshwater loach native to the fast-flowing, rocky streams and rivers of Southeast Asia, particularly in China, Vietnam, and Malaysia. These loaches are specially adapted to life in turbulent waters with strong currents, thanks to their flattened bodies and specialized fins that allow them to cling to rocks and navigate swiftly through fast-moving water.Hillstream Loaches are peaceful, bottom-dwelling fish that feed primarily on algae, biofilm, and small invertebrates found on rocks and surfaces in their natural habitat.
