The Banded Archer Fish (Toxotes jaculatrix) is a fascinating brackish-water species known for its unique hunting behavior of shooting jets of water to knock insects off overhanging vegetation. Native to the mangroves, estuaries, and tidal rivers of Southeast Asia, Northern Australia, and the Indo-Pacific region, this fish is prized for its distinctive ability and striking appearance.The Banded Archer Fish features a silvery body with bold, black horizontal bands running along its sides, providing excellent camouflage in its natural habitat.
