The Albino Tiger Oscar (Astronotus ocellatus variant) is a stunning and unique variation of the Oscar Cichlid, featuring a pale white body adorned with striking orange or red tiger-like stripes. Native to the slow-moving rivers and floodplains of South America, including the Amazon and Orinoco basins, this fish is known for its intelligence, vibrant colors, and bold demeanor.

Highly interactive, the Albino Tiger Oscar often forms strong bonds with its keeper, even learning to recognize and respond to them. In the wild, it feeds on small fish, insects, and crustaceans. In captivity, its diet should include high-quality pellets, frozen or live foods, and occasional treats like shrimp or worms.

This large and active fish requires a spacious aquarium with a minimum tank size of 300 liters. Provide plenty of swimming space, a soft sandy substrate, and sturdy decor such as rocks and driftwood. It thrives in warm water with stable conditions and moderate filtration. While generally peaceful, the Albino Tiger Oscar can become territorial, especially during breeding, and should be housed with similarly sized, robust tankmates.
